I am a human being and a supporter of all life forms. Living consciously in every moment of my life helps me see and connect with all species with compassion. A lover of “what is” helps me accept reality and to drop the thoughts which lead to struggles and suffering. Being at peace within, is the value I live by as this helps me live a joyful life and create ripples of peace which make my environment peaceful without expectations for others to change. The right to live with love, dignity and freedom from judgement is what I aspire for myself and others.
My experience in therapy has shown me that every individual has the capability to handle life in all its colours and with this belief, I work to empower each individual to connect with their inner light. I specialize in connecting people to themselves through insights into their beliefs which come in the way of them living a peaceful life within and having healthy relationships outside.
I’m trained in providing Client Centered Therapy and guided by approaches like ACT. I provide supervision to early mental health professionals (0- 3 years).
I have been counselling students and parents in a prominent Delhi school for the past 30+ years and have also been practicing as a counsellor at Sanjivini Society of Mental Health.
SUPERVISION APPROACH
I believe that supervision is an arrangement for counsellors to discuss their work with someone who is experienced in counselling and supervision. The goal is to work together to ensure and develop the efficacy of the counsellor-client relationship. I provide supervision based on Client Centered Therapy and Act approaches.
A good fit with me will be therapists who have just started their practice (0-3 years) and need a safe space with guidance and hand holding:
-To express their worries and difficulties
-To conduct their therapy sessions.
-To discuss what happened in a counselling session and explore any area that seems to be important or significant.
-To explore their therapeutic relationships; Areas include the effects of gender on a counselling relationship, the effects of differences e.g. race, class, or disability upon the relationship, levels of openness between them and client and whether there is a sense of connection or distance between them.
-To work with any cause that is blocking them from being fully present with clients and from being accepting, empathic and genuine. For example, personal issues, irritation with a client, feeling afraid or uncomfortable with a client, race, religious and cultural differences between counsellor and client, sexual attraction and others.
-To check whether they are working ethically.
